IHS Inc. (NYSE: IHS), a leading global source of critical information and insight, will join SMAhome International Exhibition & Conference 2016 as its media partner, April 19-21, 2016 at the Taipei World Trade Center Nangang Exhibition Hall, Taiwan.
Jim Dearing, analyst for security and building technologies at IHS Technology, will deliver a presentation, titled “A market overview: traditional security and the smart home” on Thursday, April 21. The SMAhome International Exhibition and Conference, run by Messe Frankfurt New Era Business Media Ltd., is the world’s only business-to-business trade fair, dedicated to home security, home control, and smart home equipment and devices.
“The number of smart home service customers globally will reach nearly 45 million by 2018, but a number of common consumer concerns, such as privacy, difficulty of installation and value for money, are still to be alleviated,” said Dearing. “My presentation will set out the current state of the market and then delve into some of the barriers and technological trends expected to influence future prospects. There has been a great deal of activity in the smart home space from a wide variety of vendors over the past couple of years, but what do they have to gain and why now?”
