Multiscreeners spend nearly 19 minutes daily using smartphones, TVs simultaneously

TVs and smartphones are a winning combination for consumers in South Korea, according to research from the Korea Information Society Development Institute (KISDI). Multiscreeners in South Korea spent nearly 19 minutes per day, on average, using those two devices hand in hand.

That was by far the most common device combination for multiscreeners in the country. Respondents spent only around one-third as long with their desktop plus a smartphone, and less than 3 minutes with any other device matchup.

According to the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA), female mobile internet users in South Korea spent an average of 97.4 minutes per day going online via smartphone, and their male counterparts devoted 95.1 minutes daily to the same activity. GlobalWebIndex reported that as of Q4 2014, mobile internet users in South Korea spent 1 hour, 47 minutes per day using the internet via mobile phone.

According to Nielsen KoreanClick, the amount of time internet users in South Korea spend online via desktop or laptop each month averages 23 hours, 35 minutes, or less than an hour per day?significantly less time than other sources report for mobile.
