Spending on big data-related marketing services is rising dramatically in China. This year, spending will be up 153.0%-even higher growth than last year’s rate of 141.9%.
That’s according to a forecast from Analysys International Enfodesk, which expects spending levels this year to reach just over RMB 2 billion ($325.4 million).
This year is expected to be the peak for growth in big data marketing services spending in China, but rates of increase will remain well over 100% through at least 2018, when spending hits RMB 27.66 billion ($4.50 billion).
In September, the China Academy of Information and Communication Technology (CAICT) estimated that spending on hardware, software and services related to big data would reach RMB 11.59 billion ($1.89 billion) this year-a figure significantly higher than the Analysys estimate, which is only for services.
Most of the services spending forecast by Analysys will go toward precision data management solutions providers?nearly 80% of all marketing services revenues will go to such firms.
